Can you bounce back?

Since we came back from the holidays we have been doing lots of activities in pairs and groups.
We have all enjoyed these activities and everyone has co-operated with their friends to complete the challenges.

We have also been talking about how we can 'bounce back' when we are in situations which make us feel sad or angry.  In our groups, we have been looking at some pictures and discussing how the people could work out their problems.

This is a piece of work we will continue to work on to ensure we feel good about ourselves in classroom and the school.

In the Wizard's Kitchen

We started our topic this term by sorting different materials.  We worked well with our friends to make 3 groups of items.  One group agreed to label their sets by materials.  This was wood, plastic and metal. The other group decided to think of ways they could use each of the objects. Their groups were things for an emergency, things to make and use and special tools.

We are going to be doing lots of tests and experiments with different materials.
The first we did was to find the best material for a shoelace.  We had to find out how strong it was, if it was bendy enough to tie and if it fitted in our shoes.  I wonder if we all agreed on the best material?

Our second experiment was to help Mrs Fairlywellorganised find a material to wrap her Christmas presents.  Once we had tested each of the materials we recorded our results on a sheet. We also talked about how important it is to complete each test fairly.
